NASC Fall Ski Race Camp:
A New Chapter at Big Sky Resort
NASC Fall Ski Race Camp:
A New Chapter at Big Sky Resort

For decades, Copper Mountain has been synonymous with fall ski race training. NASC has been proud to call it home—its world-class snowmaking, established race community, and history as a training hub have provided generations of athletes with a strong foundation. From crisp early mornings refining techniques under the guidance of our dedicated coaches on Copper’s legendary slopes to afternoon dryland training sessions and video reviews, it has been a place where countless racers have sharpened their skills and built lifelong memories.

We owe Copper Mountain tremendous gratitude. Its role as a racing epicenter has shaped who we are as a program, and the relationships forged there will always be part of the NASC story.

But just as athletes push forward in pursuit of new goals, NASC continues to evolve—and with that comes exciting change.

Why Big Sky?

In recent years, Copper Mountain’s popularity has surged, bringing heavier traffic on the slopes. Last fall, Copper also had the honor of hosting a World Cup event right during our traditional camp period. While that was an incredible milestone for U.S. ski racing—and a testament to Copper’s stature as a world-class venue—it also highlighted the reality that our athletes would benefit from a training environment with more space, consistency, and focus.

That’s why Big Sky Resort, Montana, represents the next level for NASC’s Fall Ski Race Camp. It offers a unique combination of elite terrain, dependable early-season snow conditions, and a training environment designed to challenge athletes of all levels. What makes Big Sky especially exciting:

  • World-Class Terrain – Long, consistent pitches ideal for GS and Slalom training, giving athletes more vertical to work with.
  • Snow Reliability – Excellent natural snowfall supported by modern snowmaking ensures quality conditions from day one.
  • Low Crowds – Ample space means athletes spend more time on snow, less time waiting, and get the repetitions they need.
  • Atmosphere – Big Sky blends the intensity of elite training with the serenity of Montana’s wide-open landscapes, making for a focused yet inspiring environment.

Pioneering Spirit

Just as NASC was a pioneer in the ski race camp scene—one of the very first summer ski race camps to establish itself at Mt. Hood—we now take another pioneering step forward. With our move to Big Sky, NASC is one of the first major ski race camp programs to establish a dedicated fall training presence here, if not the very first. It’s a natural evolution of our commitment to stay ahead of the curve and provide athletes with the best opportunities to develop and grow.

Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future

Leaving Copper Mountain isn’t about leaving behind what made NASC strong—it’s about building on that legacy. The foundation laid in Colorado has prepared us for this next step, and the move to Big Sky is a continuation of our mission: to provide the best training environment possible for ski racers at every level.

We’re excited for our athletes, families, and coaches to experience this new chapter. Big Sky brings with it not only world-class resources but also a sense of discovery and inspiration—qualities that align perfectly with the spirit of ski racing.

The mountain may be new, but our passion, coaching, and commitment remain the same. We look forward to welcoming you to Big Sky Resort for what promises to be an unforgettable Fall Ski Race Camp.

IN THEIR WORDS…
What makes NASC truly special is how it blends high-level intensity with genuine fun—much like the training I experienced on the U.S. Ski Team.
- Bob Ormsby, Former U.S. National Ski Team Member, World Cup Ski Racer & 1988 Olympian
IN THEIR WORDS…
NASC is where I love to train! They do an excellent job of athlete development. I think the world of their program-best training, lanes, and courses on Mt. Hood. The team really knows what they're doing. They set up terrain-specific skill development training that helps the athletes improve fast.
- Deb Armstrong, Former U.S. Ski Team Member, World Cup Ski Racer & Olympic Gold Medalist
IN THEIR WORDS…
I grew up going to NASC every summer and couldn’t wait for my kids to experience it too. It's proven to be just as much fun for them as it was for me 25-years ago! The on-hill experience is top-notch, the coaching staff is wonderful, and the after-ski activities make it the summer camp experience that kids dream of. All of the kids had so much fun, were safe, and improved so much!
- Jody Curtis, Park City Ski Team Parent & Former NASC Athlete
IN THEIR WORDS…
All 3 of my kids have gone to NASC Fall and Summer camps for years. They still attend and absolutely love it! The Coaches at NASC can make any skier, at any ability level, better. The coaches' knowledge of modern skiing and surface preparation is unmatched. NASC coaches really care about each and every athlete and share their passion for the sport.
- Mike Regrut, Telluride Ski Team Parent & Former D1 Racer
IN THEIR WORDS…
NASC was one of the best decisions I've ever made on behalf of my son. His first stay away from family was with NASC at age 11. The experience far exceeded my expectations. The coaches and training are best-in-class. NASC is by far his favorite camp and ski training experience. Our ski team now sends multiple athletes to NASC.
- Derek Stagner, Hidden Valley Ski Team Parent & Board President
IN THEIR WORDS…
Brad taught me a lot on the snow! What a wealth of knowledge!
- Sandy Perrins, Stratton Mountain School & Bates College Ski Racer
IN THEIR WORDS…
It’s such an amazing camp. It’s low key enough to make people feel like they belong, no matter their skill level, and has such great structure and such keen coaches - that every athlete will be challenged and inspired to learn. Our family highly recommends the NASC camps! Brad and his team create the type of environment we want for our kids – top-notch athletics, coupled with lots of good, summer fun!
- Tabitha Andersen, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) Parent

Excellent coaches, cover all aspects of technical ski racing. Beautiful wonderland-like campus. Highly recommend for kids from 9 and up.

The NASC camp was such a great adventure for all the campers! The coaching staff is top notch, the training venue and “base camp” were perfect. Tons of fun and very productive all the way around!
- Erik Schlopy, Former U.S. Ski Team Member, World Cup Ski Racer & Olympic Bronze Medalist
IN THEIR WORDS…
As a member of the Czech Ski Team, I experienced many organizations and international ski competitions. With NASC, I saw a different level of preparation and professionalism that fascinated me. Improvement happened naturally as their coaching is based on fundamental development.
