Ski Camp Transportation
We realize that you have reservations about sending your child unescorted on a flight to a camp far from home. It’s actually quite safe and easy for them. We have never missed a camper arriving into PDX over the 20 summers we have been making pickups. Rest assured that your camper will arrive safely no matter what circumstances arise.
NASC participants arriving by air are met at Portland Int. Airport on the first day of each session. They are returned to PDX on the last day of the session. Please schedule flights for arrival before 3pm and departure after 10am. Other flight times can be accommodated at a cost of $150 per person.
Upon arrival at PDX, proceed to the baggage carousel for your flight, claim your bags, and our representatives will meet you there. They can be identified by the fluorescent green ski camp shirts.
Meet the NASC Coach at baggage carousel
# 6 in the baggage claim area.
For children
under 13 traveling alone, the airlines provide an unaccompanied minor
escort service for a $100 fee. Please call the ski camp office two days prior
to arrival to obtain the name of the person who will be meeting the child
at the gate. The airlines require ID for the pickup of unaccompanied
minors.
Departures of unaccompanied minors will be charged $100 because airlines require us to remain with the child until after the flight departs. Most times this is an all-day affair for the person doing the drop-off. Although we wish to provide for the needs of every client, we are not a transportation/escort service and must charge extra to staff this service. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Arrivals or departures on non-scheduled days and times are not recommended but can be accommodated by special arrangement at a cost of $150.00
ARRIVALS BY CAR:

NASC is offering you discounted airline tickets through Winter Park Travel. They have contracts with United Airlines, Delta and other carriers for wholesale air fares that are often significantly less expensive than the published fares available to most travelers. It's for our valued customers.
The contracts that they have allow them to make advance reservations for several weeks before a payment is due, guaranteeing a good fare at your convenience. The travel agent can advise you not only what to book, but often even more importantly, when to book in order to obtain the lowest fare! Their hours are M-F 9am to 6pm and Saturdays from 10am -3pm mountain time. In addition they have an emergency service that is on-call at all times. If a camper misses his or her connection in Chicago on a Sunday afternoon, an agent will be available to coordinate a solution, providing parents with an enhanced peace of mind.
The airline industry has made a lot of changes in just the last year. They are very familiar with their evolving baggage, unaccompanied minor, and change fee policies especially as they relate to skiers. They can inform parents and campers of the latest policies so there are no surprises for anyone!
